Urgent – Co-ops called on upon to help protect control of the term ‘co-operative’

The government is currently undertaking a consultation - ostensibly aimed at cutting business 'red tape' - which could see the list of words which businesses are restricted from using abolished, or amended. The long-delayed and even longer-awaited reforms to rename Industrial and Provident Societies are soon to come into force. Ian Snaith, legal expert on IPSs writes on his blog that the changes which were passed into law some years ago will finally soon be implemented.
